It wasn't easy but the Knoxville Blue Coats made it look that way.

Starter Mario Torres shut out the St. Petersburg Pelicans despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Knoxville Blue Coats cruised to victory, 6-0. Torres allowed only 5 hits and rang up 10 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

Torres has gone 8-13 this season with an ERA of 4.73 and 145 strikeouts in 169.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .278 against him.
